Overview

Manhattan Civil Courthouse is a 12-story high rise located at 111 Centre Street in downtown Manhattan. The building houses both Civil and Supreme Courts and their various support rooms, including judges’ chambers and juror rooms.

About the Project

LiRo-Hill was Construction Manager for this project that entailed an extensive reconstruction of the building’s infrastructure and exterior, without disturbing its occupants. Key elements included: Electrical; Mechanical/ HVAC; Plumbing; Fire Protection; Fire Alarm and Life Safety; HVAC Controls and Building Management Systems; ADA Compliance for Building Entrances and Bathrooms; Facade and Parapet Walls; Structural and Waterproofing; and Security Systems.

Project Challenges & Solutions

All work was completed within a 12 month period, while maintaining continued operation of all building functions and incorporating security requirements. Safety protocols were integrated into the project to protect the public and office staff during construction. LiRo-Hill developed thorough phasing and staging plans, and actively coordinated the construction trades, to ensure that the aggressive schedule was successfully met.
